My Work
BrightSpot - Logo Design
BrightSpot Communities is an organization based in Affordable housing and sustainable communities. We had met and discussed that they wanted BrightSpot to have a recognizable logo across their entire catalog of community works. Stained glass has always been a favorite of mine, and my client felt connected to as well. BrightSpot could be a safe haven, similar to what a church tries to be, and that iconography could subliminally make someone feel secure and comfortable coming in.
Chicago Symphony Orchestra & Ricardo Multi performing the Brandenburg Concertos of Bach
This was an album cover created for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. A two part series with the third being all of the previous together, all different but a strong through line of continuity.
A singular modular graphic grid was created that I broke apart and scattered throughout the albums, all three have the same underlying grid shapes but different forms are highlighted in each. As someone who was in an orchestra for eleven years I wanted to really portray the movement and shapes of the sounds, and like an orchestra, the layering of many different element to create a beautiful symphony.
Mitsos’s Café -
Menu Design
This project was very personal to me as it was within the family. My uncle Dimitri had owned a beautiful ocean side restaurant in Chania, Crete for many years called Pyramis. Unfortunately at the end of summer 2023 he passed away. I wanted to incorporate string Cretan motifs in the design of the menus and logo because Dimitri was from that older Cretan stock kind of man from the mountains. I wanted to incorporate the texture of a sariki - a mens headscarf that has a firsherman’s net appearance. It is a symbol of Crete and has a very unique knot pattern that I wanted to emphasize.
