Powerful Bristle Technology Oral-B Advertisement

Project type

Advertisement, Print, Deconstruction

Date

March 2019

Location

Chicago, IL

This is a magazine ad I did as a mock up for Oral-B when I was a student at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Focused on deconstruction of the product to show all of its removable parts. Recreating the electronic toothbrush with the pen tool was an opportunity to practice and then show off my skills with photoshop and especially gradient shine and reflectivity on a product surface. Typography was a strong part of this advertisement, you have the major focus Powerful Bristle Technology right in your face that yes this is what the selling point is of this product. You have the deconstruction of the toothbrush and how all of its parts lock in together while the copy explaining the function of each interlocking piece. You have the compleated toothbrush in full color gradient large, the first thing you see in some cases, the product. The background is simple and commercial but still recognizable in the oral-b brand identity it’s the color blue and the gradient stripe cutting through the background d for a dynamic string drawing your eyes from the top left - reading the headline - then seeing the product. One two three your eyes see what they need to see. We have legibility and contrast. Single font family used dynamicllay and contrastingly. Single page spread for a magazine or even smaller on a social media advertisement.
